Courtesy of my friends over Stereogum comes the news that the infamous McCaren Pool Parties are indeed a thing of the past, but that the company who ran the three-year experiment wants to continue its awesome tradition of free outdoor concerts on Sunday afternoons. This time, however, the venue will be the Williamsburg Waterfront, which is apparantly also East River State Park. Who knew? Point is, the lineups look incredible and the venue is right on the water, so cut up some old jeans and get ready for some fun. Only downside…every other person in the city with any knowledge of this happening will be there too. Get to the venue early to get in.

Line up:
07/12 – Mission of Burma, Fucked Up, Ponytail, Jemina Pearl

07/19 – Dirty Projectors, Magnolia Electric Co., White Denim

07/26 – …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, Black Lips, HEALTH, Grupo Fantasma

08/02 – Deerhunter, No Age, Dan Deacon (Round Robin show) (!!!!!!!!)

08/09 -Simian Mobile Disco (DJ set), Fiery Furnaces, Dark Meat, The Netherlands

08/16 – Del the Funky Homosapien, Gravy Train!!!, DD/MM/YYYY, Kenan Bell

08/23 – Girl Talk, Max Tundra, Wiz Khalifa

08/30 – Grizzly Bear, Beach House

dude i'm definitely down for that dan deacon show (though i can't make it — curse the gods…) I could def hit up del the funky homosapien/gravy train — and i'm 100% up for some arson on the 23rd — just make sure khalifa and tundra are a safe distance away, wouldn't want any artists getting hurt now, you know.
