Shadow Dancer is a DJ/Producer duo of two two brother from Manchester, UK.  However, they are signed to Boys Noize Records, one of the first acts he signed, actually, and are now officially German in the eyes of the dance music world, bloody Nazi traitors.  Well anyways, they have released their first album, and it blew me away.  It contains a few songs from previous releases that have this style that is simply put as variation between two notes with an electro beat.  However, this new album introduces a very lively house feel as well as samples and just an overall vast improvement to their sound.  They’ve been compared to Mr. Oizo, a personal favorite of mine, and have just begun touring the world with Boys Noize.  I got a chance to see the DJ half play a live set (as in synths) this break at HARD 13 (Shadow Dancer dropping his track Soap).  It was one of the highlights of the night, despite the fact that he was one of the early opening acts.  The crowd went nuts to his highly energetic and ravey set composed soley of original material, which is very impressive since he’s hardly an ‘accessible’ artist.  D.I.M. followed him and basically played the safest set I’ve heard and mixed beginnings and ends, sometimes really well but sometimes very poorly and noticeably too (D.I.M. dropping Get Up – Les Petits Pilous).  Major props to Shadow Dancer, I think you guys deserve a place in the spotlight in this scene.
